It's not just Japanese

I've seen so many stamps complaining about how people are butchering and maiming the Japanese language but I've seen a few stamps on English and none on Spanish and French.

I don't know how it is in the other countries, but in the United States, I hear a lot of bad Spanish and I occasionally hear bad French. In Spanish class, I had to constantly point out that the H has no sound and the J kind of (not exactly) sounds like the English H. But they just go back and make the same mistake. So I got tired of telling them how Spanish sounds and let them make their own mistakes. Let me tell you that Spanish is not English. So don't read it like it's misspelled English. If the word is "hay", read it like the H isn't there. It sounds like "Ai" not "Hei."

Vowel lesson (for the General American accent, I don't know how other English accents sound, sorry )

A: ALWAYS sounds the A in Father.
E: Sounds like the E in Bet.
I: Sounds like the EA in Meat.
O: Approximate (not exact) sound is "Oh"
U: Approximate sound is the OO in Moon.

The vowel sounds in Spanish NEVER changes. Not even when you place two vowels together. For example, the word "leer" sounds like "leh-EHR," it does NOT sounds like "lir" just because the two "E"s are placed together. Remember, this is not misspelled English; Spanish has its own phonetics.

Not only did people screw up Spanish phonetics, they mix up the genders. To the people who called me a "Chicano" and called me "Loco", I should not have to tell you this but it appears that I have no other choice; I am NOT a boy. Geez, you both saw me in real life so what the heck is your problem? I look NOTHING like a man. The worst part about it was the person who called me "Loco" studied Spanish. *falls over* Please do NOT make that mistake again. It should be "Chicana" and "Loca."

As for French, I cannot speak much for it because I do not study French. But I do know that "Moi" is often misused by English Speakers. From what I've learned, "Moi" is used only in positive imperatives as in "Excuse me" (Excusez-moi) and "Talk to me" (Parlez-moi). Keep in mind that it doesn't work the same in a negative imperative, if you want to say "Don't talk to me," you should say "Ne me parle pas." "Moi" does not exactly work like the English "me." I've heard "moi" misused as an object pronoun that isn't used in a positive imperative. I've heard a cartoon character say "Are you looking for moi?" It was just simply annoying because I know that is grammatically incorrect.

Then I hear French words placed in English sentences yet I hear no complaints about that. I hear "Déjà vu", "Faux pas," and other words I cannot keep track of. I hear numerous complaints about the word "kawaii" being thrown into English sentences but none about any French words thrown into English.

Now if you want to write sentences like "anata no art wa kawaii desu" in my comments, I won't stop you and I will not tell you how to write. I'll just be happy that you gave me a compliment.

However, if you want to write "yaoi n yuri r stubid desu!!!" as a comment to me, then I will point out the numerous grammatical mistakes rather than address the fact that you called "boy love" and "girl love" stupid.

Now for English. Because it is my first language, I can name many mistakes and many intentional errors. I admit that English is a difficult language and that I suck at typing it. But compared to Internet English, my English is proper. There are times when Internet English gets so bad, I would have a better chance of understanding it if it were written in complete proper Spanish.

In Fanfiction, I get very annoyed when I see homophones get mixed up. I want to make it clear that:

1) "You're" is an abbreviation of "You are."
2) "Your" is a possessive pronoun
3) "They're" is an abbreviation of "They are"
4) "Their" is a possessive pronoun.
5) "There" is used to indicate location.
6) "Two" (and 2) is a number. You cannot use it to indicate a destination. "i got 2 go 2 the store"
7) "Too" is the English word for "también" and "demasiado" (I cannot explain it better, sorry. It works like those verbs if you took Spanish class).

Some mixups are amusing like "He wrapped his arms around her WASTE (as opposed to the proper "waist").
